Waiting

Although my heart just wants to play
and cook a poem every day,
This mirthless mind of mine refuses.

So while I'm rueing what the news is
(and learning all about the blueses)
I guess I must await my muses.

Ah, jjorge, how very Ogden Nashish. Love it!

Thank you Letty. You are, as usual, too kind.

It's been a long time..... I hope you are well and happy!

PS

Yesterday I sent my sister links to some (of my) poems which I had previously published on A2K. She apparently liked them and asked for more.
I had an earlier version of this poem lying around and after tinkering with it a little, sent it to her as a reply. Accordingly, I have re-named it:

"Reply To My Sister Who Asks For 'More Poems' "

Missed me huh? Aww shucks, aren't you nice Eva! Very Happy

I've been so busy that I've been depriving myself of contact with all the great A2K people! (like you )

Things are indeed going well though.
I have my health (thus far), enough income to live reasonably well and do a little for others, and I have friends and family to love.

Guess that's pretty good.

Hi Edgar, nice to see YOU!

One of these days I'm going to come down there to Houston and shake your hand brother.

Jjorge.

A good fun poem with some marvellous rhymes. 'refuses' and 'news is' is my favourite. A bit more alliteration as in the third line would go well. A very good work.
