My hijak log. Freezing computer and mouse

Reply Thu 15 Dec, 2005 09:55 am
I have run stinger, CCleaner, spybot, and cshredder.
All run in safemode.
Updated in the last few days..

Defrag yesterday afternoon.

My problem remains?

My mouse freezes on the screen and sometimes moves around with out me touching it.
Yahoo messanger freezes up and sometimes my interenet connection freezes as well.

I have several BIG programs on the computer now that were not there before. Could possibly be too much for the computer.
I have just put in Zbrush, Daz, photosuite, and a few other degisn programs.
Dunno what is going on?

here is my log-

Hi there, shewolfnm - this one is sorta deja-vu, seems to me; I think you've "been here before", earlier this summer Laughing  . Anyhow, in the log you've just posted there are no yuckware signatures I recognize right off hand, however you've got a helluva buncha stuff running at boot - unnescessary stuff. That's gonna be a significant hit to available resources.

It appears also you have 2 antivirus apps - AVG/Grisoft, and Symantec/Norton, running simultaneously - not advisable. Another thing I notice is that it seems Stinger may have been running when you ran HJT - and that HJT is not in a folder of its own directly on your root drive or in your Programs folder. Nothing else should be running when you scan with HJT, and HJT should not be run from a temporary or per-user folder. I think it might be a good idea to uninstall/delete Stinger; you can always redownload it if you need it, and since its frequently updated, making sure you have only the newest version on hand is the best course anway.

Anyhow, I gather you have Spybot S&D installed. Try this:

Open Spybot, select "Advanced Mode" if it is not already selected, then select "Tools". Locate the "System Startup" section, open that. Over on the right, you'll see a list of the items that start with Windows. Up at the top will be a toolbar, and in that toolbar will be a sorta curly arrow labled "Toggle".

http://img234.imageshack.us/img234/2607/spybot7qb.jpg

Go through the list, locate each of the following, click on the line to highlight it, then click the "Toggle" arrow. This doesn't remove anything, it just switches that item's startup entry off, and is completely reversable. These things don't need to just sit there waiting for you to use them, you can bring up any of them via Start>Programs or a desktop shortcut icon any time you want them. There are some inthis list I doubtyou'll ever use or miss, BTW.

C:\Program Files\Iomega\AutoDisk\ADUserMon.exe
C:\Program Files\Iomega\DriveIcons\ImgIcon.exe
C:\Program Files\Iomega\DriveIcons\deskup.exe /IMGSTART
C:\Program Files\RFA\rfagent.exe
C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe
C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVGFRE~1\avgcc.exe
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_04\bin\jusched.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\NvCpl.dll,NvStartup
C:\WINDOWS\system32\NvMcTray.dll,NvTaskbarInit
C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVGFRE~1\avgemc.exe
C:\WINDOWS\CTRegRun.EXE
C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe
C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\ypager.exe
C:\PROGRA~1\SPYWAR~1\swdoctor.exe
C:\Program Files\Creative\MediaSource\Detector\CTDetect.exe

When you've done that, close Spybot, reboot, and see what happens. I could be wrong, but I suspect that may help a bunch. Use the machine a while, and get back to me - if this works out, we can take more permanent measures.
