[RESOLVED] I can't change my desktop background!

Go to Start, Control Panel, then Appearance and Themes. You should be able to change your screen saver/background from there.

Or go to the Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs and find it in the list and uninstall the invasive bugger.

Yup, that's pretty much the deal - nagware, anyhow, even if not exactly "spyware" (though I wouldn't be surprised by that, either), and its yuckware any way you look at it. Look in Add/Remove Programs for the Lumesoft entry, or something clearly related to Lumesoft/Screensaver; if anything like that is there, remove it. If its not there you prolly can still fix the problem without reformatting/reinstalling Windows, though its likely gonna be a bit trickier.
