Since this is on Spirituality & Religion, I'll ask...

How come, when I prayed as a child, God never spoke to me?

How come, now I don't pray as an agnostic adult, God still doesn't speak to me?

God speaks to those who have ears to hear and eyes to see.

Nope. Those whom God speaks to are too smart to wear tin foil hats and risk being struck by lightening.

all priests i spoke to in my life (admittedly only three or four that i know well) have never heard from god directly. on the other hand, my friend's grandma, who's got an alzheimer and is in an assisted living facility, speaks to him daily. maybe her eyes and ears are more open now that she doesn't recognize her own family.

Ah. I see. So it's my fault that the ears and eyes that He (allegedly) gave me weren't sufficient to notice Him?

Ah, is that an insult on atheist intellegence?
Regardless, it seems you are smart enough not to wear tinfoil hats, but not smart enough to spell lightning right. Rolling Eyes

Unless you mean you'll be struck by some kind of lightening device. Like a lamp perhaps? Laughing

Why would that be an insult on atheist intelligence? Do you have a complex?

If the most you have to offer is that and the fact that someone actually made a spelling error, then I guess your life is complete.

BTW..... check on how you spelled intelligence, my friend :-) It has an i.

It means age/sex/location, and is commonly used on "teen" and otherwise internet chatrooms.

It was a cheap stab at humor on my part. Not one of my better efforts.

Not necessarily. You have to open them with a pure and loving heart before he can hear you with your pure thoughts.
