WHAT IS THE ORIGINAL IDEA?
This topic has fascinated me ever since my old buddy Crepa posted it on Abuzz in November of 2000.
It was a discussion where I first met my buddy Fresco.
"If all ideas are variations on a theme, as some philosophers assert, what is that original theme or idea? In other words, even Einstein's theory of relativity was not an original idea, it was a compilation or variant of other ideas. Hint: "Let there be light" is not the correct answer."
"Food good" maybe. Then "Where food". Seems these would be original ideas of intelligent discourse. But on the whole, i don't think there is a cut and dry path of scientific progress from an original idea.
