Hello teachers and experts;
Im currently looking for a descent and suitable law school in Michigan, and I am seeking your advice on what to choose. I have made a lot of research and I want your input on the following:
My criteria for choosing a law school is mainly:
- LLM International or Comparative Law. If not, LLM finance and corporate law. But I prefer the first one.
- The school ranking.
- Tuition
- Duration (maximum one year).
Ok, this is the list of Michigan Law Schools that I found:
P.S: For the ranking, u can check LLM ranking (not only the ranking as a law school).
LAW SCHOOLS LIST:
1- Ave Maria School of Law
3475 Plymouth Road
Institution: Private
2- Michigan State University
316 Law Building

3- Thomas M. Cooley Law School
Lansing, MI 48901

4- University of Detroit Mercy

Law school in Michigan
I may be wrong, but I think that Ave Maria Law School has a strong religious orientation. If that is the case you may find it annoying, or with an uneven emphasis.
I see and what about the others?
How about other schools which are NOT listed here?
Law School
Remember, I said I might be wrong. I don't know from direct research, but I believe it was included in a book published this year called "God on the Quad" by Naomi Schaefer Riley, which surveyed a number of professional, graduate and undergraduate schools. It spent most of its space in "Christian" schools, but did include a few Catholic schools - Notre Dame was one. However, I seem to remember being surprised that Ave Maria was not Catholic, given the name. But you might want to check that by out for yourself.
Of interest concerning Ave Maria:

I notice you have not included the University of Michigan on the list. In my day, it was the premiere law school in Michigan. However, my day (that is, school-attending, although not law) was a few decades ago.
I believe there's also a Detroit Law School.
U of Michigan-Ann Arbor is still one of the top schools in the nation (according to US News--8th in in the nation)
Two notes:
First, Michigan State is an excellent Law School, but it is public not private.
Second, Ave Maria is definitely religious - started by Tom Monaghan (sp?) from Dominos Pizza after he found religion and dedicated much of his fortune to this cause.
