Oh, we have the ibids, also.
For a while, Deb. They were discouraged here because of unimaginative people, but now they are back and live in harmony with the other creatures that frequent my pond.

Yours?
They might look cuddly but if you pick one up that's not high on gum leaves it's more likely to hiss, bite and piss all over you.
Where in the world is Nobody Special? Did he have a run in with the koala and Wombat who were high on gum leaves?
Frankly, dadpad, that is NOT a replica of my ibis who is tall and stately with contrasting black bill. I simply could not find a picture to adequately represent that lovely bird.
*shouts* AND ITS NOT A BEAR!!!!!
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A KOALA BEAR ITS NOT A BEAR. GET IT RIGHT. it a koala. Period.
*end rant*

bat or pigeon. He bit the head off one of each.
At the moment I like numbats:
Thorny devils:
and Tree Kangaroos:
And I've seen tree kangaroos and cassowaries in the wild this last year:
yeah I saw one of those things up in the Table lands
Up close? In the tablelands last year I'd just been told that you don't move when you see one and that they are very protective of their chicks.
We walk around a bend in the track and there's a lady being sniffed by a cassowary (with a chick). It's as tall as she is and she is frozen, we're frozen, and the monster bird circles her for about 10 minutes before deciding there's no threat and wandering into the bush.
Couldn't even take a photo.
Yes up close, I was wandering around a track up by those volcanic lakes turned around and saw it in the bush and it didnt move an inch...after taking a photo I moved on
I think i like Kangaroos and Platypus'.
