Though I have a fake fireplace to play on my iPod, I don't understand fake fireplaces. If you can't have a real fireplace, then don't have one at all. I love real fire places and wood stoves.

Throw another log onto the fire or grab another blanket?

Snowball fights are more subversive and unexpected. It's hard to be sneaky with one of those water rifles or a leaky water pistol in your jacket pocket.

Decorating ones window with a single and reserved candle light or throwing up so many Christmas lights and yard ornaments that they can spot your home from Mars?

year round in the kitchen. Only seasonal for the dining room, mostly it's just left as a wooden table with a runner.
