Heehee - sounds like it is time to revive my "how many pinches in a metric smidgeon" thread!

I think there are less bits in a nibble than there are in a byte. Stands to reason! I think there are two bits in a nibble, and hence four nibbles in a byte.

Although, I believe there are two and a half imperial nibbles to a metric byte.

Ooo, found a very cool webpage...
The Jargon File has been making the rounds for a couple decades, and has versions saved throughout the internet.

Before reading it, how many bits do you suppose are in a:
-- crumb
-- tayste
-- tydbit
-- chawmp
-- dynner
-- gawble

Very Happy No wonder programmers keep getting the munchies!

There are lots of wacky terms used, but my favorites from the New Hacker's Dictionary are:

bit = 1
tayste = 2 bits
nybble = 4
byte = 8
playte = 16
dynner = 32
