Haha... will be interesting to see how the election turns out. Earlier I heard that even though the vote of no confidence itself was a scandal and caused uproar, the result of upcoming election won't shift the power too much in the parliament.

all this "excitement" about the election should keep us hot under the collar - so we'll be able to meet "the one-ton challenge" .(whoever came up with that idea, must have not had his head screwd on. the waste of paper for printing the booklets is more than we are saving with the one-ton challenge. and isn't it wonderful that it costs only "four million dollars" to send the amended tax returns out ? grrrr ! ). hbg(not in a good mood !)

Some young people at work were sort of casually watching the news in the lunchroom today - then "he's not winning, is he?" as the poll results came up.

The threat of Stephen Harper at the helm convinced a couple of them to go out and vote on Monday.

<or was it my threats?>

If the Conservatives had not sold out to the Alliance. And if Stephen Harper was not the leader of the Conservative party. We would probably be seeing a Conservative majority on Monday.

Peter MacKay would definitely would get a less fearful reaction from a lot of people. Or at least - from the people I speak to.

I work in the Bay Street vortex - banks, insurance companies - you'd think everyone would be heading out to vote Conservative. errrrrrrr, no, Stephen Harper makes us uneasy. Lots of comments about his weird smiles during the last English debate.

Truth be told.... they would probably have gotten my vote on Monday if Peter was leading them.

the canadian chamber of commerce was quite dismayed with the tax proposals made by the conservatives !!! (if that won't shock the voters, what will ?)

i read today, that stephen harper was a follower of good, old PET (pierre-elliott trudeau, for our neighbours) in his younger years. somebody put something in his coffee ? hbg
