I'm looking for a program (freeware or shareware) where I can burn a photo\presentation to a CD and it will auto run. Kind of like a automatic powerpoint so if the person does not have the program there is something to automatically install or automatically run the photo\presentation
Thanks

The PowerPoint Viewer 97 allows people who use PowerPoint to share their presentations with people who do not have PowerPoint installed on their computers. When you post presentations on the Internet, you can include the PowerPoint Viewer to expand your online audience to people who might not have PowerPoint, or to those with different versions. You can use this viewer to view files created in both PowerPoint for Windows® and PowerPoint for the Macintosh.

Presentation Publisher
Hello Husker Smile

I've been using Presentation Publisher for years and I love it to pieces

http://cmbsoftware.com/publish.htm

The main problem with it is that it's EXPENSIVE ($90.00)

Other than that, it's incredibly easy to use and allows a wide range of customized transitional effects and music. I haven't used another similar program but in scanning the available options at CNET and other big download sites it seems that there are several to choose from, most of which are much less expensive than Presentation Publisher. Some possibilities include Presentation Pro ($40.00)

http://www.ez-rom.com/prespro/index.php

and AMI Presentation Wizard ($30.00)

http://www.mindworkshop.com/alchemy/prspro.html

You will likely be able to find more choices if you search any of the big download sites such as CNET

www.download.com

Tucows

www.tucows.com

Major Geeks

www.majorgeeks.com

Rocket Download

www.rocketdownload.com

etc. etc.

with keywords such as "slideshow" "standalone slideshow" "presentation" etc. or any combination of those words.

Fortunately, all of the specific options that I've mentioned allow a "try before you buy" option and so hopefully you will be able to make a determination if one of these products truly meets your needs before you buy it. Be sure to give any program you try a thorough test by building a complete presentation (including a music soundtrack) with it and burning it to a CD, and then give the CD to a friend and have them run it on THEIR machine. This will help you determine how "universally friendly" the program is.

Good Luck! Smile
