After he decided to be a monk, he started off to a nearby monastary, to take refuge. He already read basics of buddhism, and some buddhist fiction, which eventually dragged him into this monastary. He took refuge and joined those sleave less monks.
First ten days passed like ten seconds.
He have to learn all the sanskrit scriptures byheart. He always wondered, if buddha underwent similar hardships.
Another ten days passed, now seconds became days for him.
The tibetian kids who took refuge there, were not even five years old. They were sent by there parents. They were like typical school going LKG kids - who always love to play, laugh and run. They ran between the older monks, with their sleeveless tops and 'mund' like pants.
They still didnt stop smiling,as they probably dont know that their parents made them 'Buddha dasis.' Buddha dasis are like 'Devadasis' of hinduism.

HEY I love Buddha and his teachings!

Thats the reason why i went to this monastary!

I literally saw that his words are not really practiced by the monks!

Buddha

these monks doesnt appear to question Buddhas teachings or scriptures and learn them blindly!
How can a kid who is "monked" by his parents know what Buddhism is all about..... he is there because his parents sent him there!
Buddha experienced everything at least once in his life.... and then said whats good and whats wrong!(based on his own perceptions- the great thing is- he provided space for all of us to rethink his own preachings)
But the monks, especially kidmonks know nothing... Dont even know the reason for them in being a monk..

I personally think thats a flaw of buddhism...-- NOT BUDDHA!

I see where your coming from on this, I have found myself looking at pictures of buddhist monks in buddhist nations and wonder what does this mean to them, as this is what they're raised with. Could every last buddhist monk be that devote? Or are they just like you and me doing what everyone else is doing. I found myself wondering of children monks as well, how could they feel as if they're supposed to be a monk, how could they know what it is to be a monk. Isn't religion more profound if it's found later in life to be what you've been missing?

How many children anywhere in the world know what they are doing, and how many of us understand the world around us to the point it's second nature. Couldn't being raised with the concept of question everything and only hold that which is true close be the best possible way to not know?
