I have the following system

Asus/Abit mobo's
P4820d/P4630
Corsair Value Select 2x512
Saphire x800
Antec550
Hitachi SataII 2x80

I had the asus/820 combo to start with and bought a new water block to cool it. I didn't clean out the block when I took everything apart and after a while it leaked a small amount onto the video card while watching a movie. The monitor went black and I rma'd the video card to newegg. When it got back I removed the water cooling and still the screen was black. I figured the mobo was fried so rather then sticking it to newegg again I just bought a cheap abit. When I got the abit I hooked everything up and got a post code involveing the video bios not loading, I figured this may be from a damaged cpu as the cpu check came after the video. So I spent my last dollars on a 630, this got here yesterday and when I hooked it up to the abit I still get a black screen. I get the post code 7F and when I press F1 I get the post code FF, still no display. Any thoughts on what may be the issue here? I really can't afford to replace more parts

POST code 7F usually indicates a Power Supply issue, I think, though it could also stem from a BIOS or CMOS issue, or from a RAM issue, as I recall - no manual in front of me, sorry.

Coupled with the black screen/no OS boot, POST code FF could indicate a BIOS problem; what it means, essentially, is "256", the numeric equivalent of hexdecimal "FF" - all 256 POST routines have run, POST is complete.

My first thought would be to try the video card in an otherwise known-good machine, which would at least tell you whether the problem is with your specific machine.

Dunno if this'll help, but you might try removing your video card, cleaning its contacts and those of the slot into which it seats, doing the same for each of your memory sticks, then resetting your CMOS (switch its jumper to a different position, with the machine not connected to power, push-and-hold the power-on switch, wait a few seconds, release the power switch, replace the CMOS battery, plug in the machine, power it on) and seeing what happens.

Wish I could be more help, but off the top of my head, thats about all I can come up with.

Thanks for the thoughts, I've been trying everything I can think of and it's a little confuseing. I've gotten to where I think the OS is actually loading but i'm not sure. I would try the card but this is a new machine and it's got all parts newer then my old ones. I took the memory out and the thing doesn't even do anything so i don't think the memory is a problem. The psu should be ok but i don't have another one with dual 12v connections. I have two cpus one brand spanking new and two mobos one brand spanking new so i really doubt one of those could be the problem. The video card was repaired supposedly so that shouldn't be the problem. This thing Should be working. It might be a cmos issue but with two boards and two cpu's? argh, i'll give your suggestions a shot, no one even has a comment at the abit website
