If somebody had watched this film several times, or has figured out who is the killer at first watching, could he explain, please ?

I didnt understand it at all, but I did have an internal weep at the storyline where the husband or wife 'murders' their spouse by using their memory loss against them.Reminding them to keep taking their medicine leading to an overdose. So sad.

Wait a minute Mac...

I AM confused....I just realized Mirage was asking who the killer of the wife was (deleted my other post when I realized my error)

I don't think it really made a point of showing you who the killer of the wife was....or even if the killer was found

Apparantly though, the man w/ no memory has killed more than 1 person in revenge for her murder.

The cop, played by joey pants, tells him that this scenerio has happened to him more than once, that the man has thought he found the killer, and killed him.
He simply doesn't remember doing it, and so keeps looking for the killer.

BTW mirage, I made mention in my deleted post that when the movie's in color it's going forward in time, and when in B&W, it's going back in time.

Did you enjoy the film?

What a great movie! I loved it...it was very complex and hard to follow but...Chai is right. The killer is the man looking for the killer.

Laughing No, Chai is the women with the lasik Laughing

anyway, both MG and mirage, try watching it again, keeping the color and b&w aspect in mind.

But he didn't kill his wife, right?

that was some unnamed person?

or am I nuts?

I thought this part was funny....when he's running and thinks "what am I doing? Oh, I'm chasing someone....<gunshot> <man reverses direction> No, someone's chasing me"

yes, tofu girl, there was indeed.

however, it never explains who murdered the wife.....it does show the man w/ no memory murder someone who he believed murdered his wife.

the cop explained to the man that the man as done this before (murdering someone who he thought was the one who killed his wife) but, because he does not remember, he continues going on looking for the murderer of his wife.

I think that he did kill his wife and that Sammy is just a figment of his imagination...a guy he made up to cope with killing his wife. Remember the insulin test story?

I have to see this movie again. I've watched it twice but there is so much going on, I think I need to go back and see it a third time.

Yes, that is correct. I remember watching Memento several times before I figured that out and being super disturbed when I did. Same thing with Fight Club - I didn't really understand what was going on until the end. Sign of a great movie IMO.

BTW - If you liked Fight Club, read the book "Choke"

It's by the same guy that wrote Fight Club.

You will love it.
