I know you can't just casually toss a computer into the trash, but what about printers?
If I can't put it in the trash, what can I do with it? It's totally dead.
Doesn't work at all, eh? Would a local engineering school be interested in having it to take apart? Or a local HS science or mechanics (shop) class?
Some office supply and/or computer stores offer recycling for 'puters and peripherals - see if there's one near you that does. Actually, as for the prnter, if its a typical home-type inkjet printer, I'd say there's really nothing in it that would make it any more "hazardous waste" than, say, the average plastic-clad broken down kitchen appliance, entertainment electronic, or grooming aid. Personally, I'd just trash the puppy with no more thought than I'd give a toaster, a hair dryer, or a clock radio that was beyond practical repair.
An afterthought here - its worth noting its often cheaper to replace a printer than to buy new ink for it when it runs dry. That's sick.
cost of printer is 85 and new toner 65 hmmmm
