Your heart's desire......What are you doing for it?

This past week a friend of mine's brother-in-law was laid on
an operating table, chest split open with a razor sharp
scalpel, and the doctor's performed open-heart surgery to
repair a bad heart.

Despite opening up that chest, and seeing all of the inner
workings of the heart... valves, veins and arteries, I'll
tell you what they DID NOT see...

HIS HEART'S DESIRE!

What is it that you desire most in your life... in your
heart?

What is it at the very core of your being that you desire
most? This is what I call a Core Desire.

Core Desires create emotions that originate from your heart.
These are the emotions of intrinsic motivation, the power
within. This is your heart-set, or simply what your heart is
set on having, being, seeing, feeling, achieving, and
experiencing.

Your heart-set is a much more accurate guide and source of
success than your mind-set so follow your heart.

Perhaps you have heard people say, "When he sets his heart
on something, watch out!" Or "When her heart is set on
something, get out of her way."

Maybe you have even used this phrase to describe something
you really wanted: "I really have my heart set on going to
college" or "I have my heart set on having a big wedding."
Have you noticed that when you have your heart set on
something it usually happens? Why?

Because in the pursuit of your heartfelt desires, you
exercise real initiative, resourcefulness, creativity, and
endurance-you simply find a way to make it happen. You do
whatever it takes to get what you want.

Why is great literature so replete with references to the
feelings, desires, wisdom, and truth of the heart? Because
the heart is the great center of our emotional intelligence
and the ultimate arbitrator in the test of truth as we know
it.

We look to the heart-to our true feelings and our Core
Desires-to determine a course of action. We look to the
heart when making important decisions. We also look to the
heart to assess what's best for us.

Your Core Desire is the switch. Having your heart fixed on
your Core Desires is how your latent talents, gifts, and
abilities are unleashed.

Once you have a genuine, clear, and accurately defined Core
Desire, you will expend all the necessary effort, for as
long as it takes, to overcome any obstacle in your way in
order to achieve it.

If you dismiss what you desire most, you also dismiss the
very source of your power. Your Core Desires are not wishes,
whims, or insincere and artificial goals, nor are they New
Year's resolutions that are made with little commitment to
fulfilling them.

They aren't even wonderful dreams, or things that would be
nice to have. Those will not bring results. Your Core
Desires are the things in life that really get you excited.

There will always be barriers and obstacles between where
you are right now and where you want to be. If your desire
is fairly strong, you will definitely get started on it. You
will probably spend a lot of money and time on it, too. You
may even get most of the way there.

KEY -> The day you encounter a barrier or obstacle that is
bigger than your desire, you will be stopped.

That's the bad news. The good news is that there are no
barriers or obstacles that can stop you when you are
pursuing a Core Desire.

The obstacles you encounter may be intimidating, they may
slow you down, they may be difficult, they may hurt like
crazy-but they won't stop you if you focus on your Core
Desires. When you are less than wholehearted, you are easily
derailed.

When your whole heart is committed, failure is not an
option. Halfhearted athletes or teams will never become
champions. A halfhearted relationship just doesn't cut it. A
halfhearted salesperson is destined to a life of mediocrity
and financial struggles.

Halfhearted will only get you halfway there. Anything less
than wholehearted is destined to mediocrity or failure.

Every obstacle yields to stern resolve, and resolve comes
from Core Desires. The ability to make obstacles yield comes
from your CORE DESIRES and your CONQUERING FORCE.

Sorry, I think it was the bright blue letters you used. They reminded me of one time I got suckered... But as to what the bright blue letters are actually saying, I have no objections. Smile

Spendius, no, I haven't. You could tell from that?

Except that forcefields are there to protect the core, not inhibit it. But sometimes my firewall prevents my computer from realizing it's core desires. Smile

Spider speaks here with words that seem easy-slung to me, very unknowledgeable of the vagaries of real life, and very aphoristic, sort of a Buy This thing.

I don't mind, though, the basic idea, which is to listen to yourself. (I'd add not to her or anyone else... keep consulting self and listen to the conversation as you speak with yourself).

I don't have any ideas to promote. I just so hate seeing people subsumed in follow me routines, as in some fooforaw called Core Desire.

Watch your asses.

Life is difficult at times, I accept and may be I am too young to be aware of the various vagaries of life but those who must achieve and rise to greatness must find a way out of all odds.

Solution is the mother of problem, if the problem exists solution does too. Smile

To this I could only say, go out and meet more women, women are certainly not going to come to you.

Do you really think not.

I meet women on a regular basis in the pub and in the course of my daily rounds and whilst they usually fit most of my requirements they invariably have one or more unfortunate dispositions such as an overblown sense of self importance or an ugly mug or provide evidence of a desire to waste all the resources of anyone foolish enough to attempt making a compact with them.

Why should you only restrict to pubs? Try churches (if you are not an atheist).
Distracting a bit, did you know how people (around 90%) of them, get married in our culture? Arranged marriage, that is. Hey, but, I don't recommend that to you!
But, I want to make a point. India has the lowest divorce rate in the world, it fluctuates never mind, but for centuries has and I don't doubt will remain lowest.

Why do you think these marriages work? You who have such superior understanding of human psychology?

If you put a hot kettle on a cold stove it will go cold and if you put a cold kettle on a hot stove it will boil.
We do the former and arranged marriages are like the latter.

It is the cultural hangover of 19th century romanticism.I would recommend Pride and Prejudice with special reference to the first sentence. And I mean the book not the movie versions.
