I have heard that porn is considered "degrading" and "offensive" to women. However, most porn also involves guys! Are the guys not offended and degraded? We must ask ourselves "what is porn?" Porn is someone reading erotic stories or looking at pictures of nude women or men for the purpose of sexual gratification. It is an alternative or a precursor to "real sex". However, isn't every one of us the result of some horny guy getting aroused over a nude and (hopefully) horny woman? Thanks to porn even ugly people can get laid! Without naked women, erect penises and moist vaginas babies would not be born, productivity would decline, businesses would fail and within a hundred years the entire human race would cease to exist! Let's support Playboy and Penthouse and Hustler as they are paving the way for the future of the world! If porn is outlawed then only outlaws will have porn! As our civilization declines for a lack of porn I, for one, refuse to be the cause of the problem! Let's take off our clothes and run naked into the streets, take pictures of each other and celebrate horniness and procreation! Who's with me?
is porn really so bad?
No.. wanna make one with me?

I'm not with you

And, I think it can get out of control, and lead to other sexual crimes.
depends on the type of porn. if it is really offensive, then yes. if it is just beautiful depiction of nudes then no.
I dont consider playboy porn..
I think that is just photography.
hustler?
i think that is porn.

In a heartbeat shewolfnm!
I think there is a bit difference between material dealing with sensual, sexual action between consenting adults and material that glorifies the studly man without giving equal dignity to the women involved.
Not all sexual material degrades women, but some does.
blah blah blah...porn does NOT cause sexual crimes. The sickos who do those things would have done them anyway and are fed by pron (ah, the memories of pron!). Without it, the crimes would most likely still have been committed.
Phoenix, said TITillation. <<giggle>>
Ok, and to answer the question, no porn isn't really that bad. It's people who are bad and who screw up relationships and their lives.
Kiddy porn? S&M with unwilling partners? Hot sex with women as inferiors?
I mean just regular "legal" porn" with willing grownups.
Porn can destroy the appetite for decent sex based on a real relationship. It is a creeping disease. I had my marriage destroyed by porn and now see its effects where I work, in a prison. Not an amusing subject at all and deserves deeper knowledge and reflection.
there is no such thing as 'porn'!
it is something that exists only in the minds of those who would control the activities, preferences, and even 'thoughts' of others, in order to validate their own myopic vie of the world.
there IS crime, of various sorts, involving offensive unconsenting acts of violent abuse, but the whole concept of 'porn' is, at best, an undefined version of vigilante puritanism.
[activities of consenting adults, doing no harm to anyone, are nobody's business.]

oops, sorry; the first one has a 'w' missing.
[see if you can find it]

Pah. Don't get me started.
What caused the destruction of your marriage? The sneaking? The fighting? The lying? Or the watching of porn? Did he not have sex with you anymore because of the porn? Did you talk to him about it or scream at him that he was rotten pig and a terrible husband and you demand better?
I am not trying to trivialize your situation because I know nothing about it but 9 time outta 10, the seperation is not caused by porn but by the people in the marriage who refuse to take responsibility for it and want to blame something else.
What effects do you see in prision? Rape? Pah. Porn didn't cause that. Horney men and power trips cause that. I am curious to know what you meant by that comment.
From a consumption standpoint, I don't see porn as being "at fault" for marriage problems, etc. any more than alcohol is "at fault." Some can drink, or view porn, without it becoming a problem. The problem lies within the consumer, not the product itself.
From a production standpoint, it seems to me that the creators often prey on vulnerable women. That I have issues with.
