MIDI MUSIC AND VIRTUAL SOUNDS FOR PC

HI!.

I've been a MIDI performer since 1993. Now I'm bored with those horrible sounds that my keyboard has, either those silly patterns my drum machine has.

I read something about VST Virtual Instruments and Virtual Drum Loops.

I'm looking for information in order to learn how should I start learning and working with these technologies. (or any other somebody will consider easy and good to use)

The thing is: I've always worked with my keyboard's preset sound banks as well as my drum machine's. I've been looking for a more pro sound...something I can use new sounds with and I can download from internet and upload to my Pc...also new beats...

Nowadays I'm working with Cakewalk Studio...which I like because is pretty easy to use and needs not much experience as musician...

Does anybody know anything about these things?

Alex.
