Extracting a file larger than 4GIG

You would probably need a NTFS file system rather than a FAT32 to extract that large a file.

Basically, you would need to upgrade to Windows XP. 98SE does not support NTFS.

Is it possible to get the files in 2 zipped files instead of one?

well, i dont know if it can be split to two..

theres about 50 archives, .r00 too .r48 and a .rar file thats used to extract it

If you can take the file to a Win2K or XP machine, extract it into a folder that machine. Then use HJSplit to split the large file into smaller component files of whatever size you find convenient, burn those smaller files to optical or magnetic media, take the optical or magnetic media to your machine, copy the component files into a folder on that machine and use HJSplit to join them back into a duplicate of the original extracted file.

HJSplit is a little clunky, but its free and it works. Be sure to download and read the manual.
