Hello everybody
Major problem here. In fact, even worse.
I have a p4 Celeron 2 GHz, 512 mb ram, MS-6507 motherboard, 128 mb ati graphic card, 160 gb ide hdd, and a pci modem card.
all new, except the motherboard.
The problem in my case is that when I power up the system, I get lights on modem (pci), the fans (processor and graphic card) start spinning, power source is working, but I get no signal on my monitor. It doesn't even say "no signal"
I have notice that the keyboard lights doesn't flash at all.
Floppy drive light goes on and remains on.
Motherboard does no beeps....no matter what i remove from it.
It looks like I got no signal to peripherals. What do you think?
Sad

Well, it might be a problem with the PC, and it might be a problem with the monitor. You need to narrow it down a little, either

A) try a friends monitor with your pc
B) try your pc with a friends monitor

this will eliminate one of the possibilities, and you can then start tkaing things from there...

nighthawk has a good suggestion. Some other considerations:

If your floppy drive light comes on and stays on, it could be indicative of your floppy cable being plugged in "upside down". Try unplugging the ribbon flipping it over, and plugging it in the other way. If the drive itself is "protected" from this with a notch of some sort, it may be flipped on your motherboard. If you're able to get a closer look, ensure pin 1 on the motherboard corresponds to pin 1 on your floppy drive. Worst case, unplug the floppy drive ribbon and power and see if the aforementioned behavior reoccurs.

Try switching out the video card.

Try changing slots the video card is plugged into, could be a bad slot on the motherboard.

Along with the last suggestion, try unplugging everything except the video card and see if you get video on your screen, then start plugging in peripherals one at a time to see where it bunks.

Hope this helps.
