hi,
i have a very strange problem. pls help me.

i had purchased a new samsung cd-rw(octo edge).

The problem is that, my Window XP doesnt detect any cd-Rw where as Redhat 9 reads it perfectly. But my New cd-rw works perfectly on my friend's window XP and also his cd-rw is working perfectly on my window XP. So i cannot detect where is the actual problem, my Xp detects my friend cd-rw(samsung 2003) but not mine..(i use only these two cd-rw on my XP)... even there is no cd drive view in system device manager.

my pc configuration is PIV-1.8Ghz, 40 GB HDD, Motherboard Intel GLAD, 256 RAM, 3 fat32 partition(Xp on c drive) and redhat9 installed also.
