Does a hurricane like Wilma have an effect on the jet stream? My husband's flighht from DC arrived here about an hour earlier.

Good to see you again, wordworker.

I'm back!

Our flight was slightly delayed as a result of the winds resulting from the hurricane and low pressure system meeting in the North East.

I should be back in clicking form tonight.

Thanks, danon!

Great to see you all again.

Great postings and photos wildclicker!

wordworker, glad you and your puter feeling much better yesterday and hopefully today too! Ul wonderful stories of autumn plus links, and Dan, beautiful autumn colorings from leaf pic. pwayfarer, please send a link! So interesting, thanks!

Yesterday, i finally got three photos of baby deer walking through the property. Too cute! Sitting on the porch in the afternoon sunshine, a ruckus from the lawns <leafs crinkling under deerfoot> and two babies appeared - leapt over the top hedges, landed on the road, then hopped up one of the driveways to a landing and stood there staring at me. I happened to have brought the camera outdoors earlier, and voila! Will post soon as the photos are developed. They are so cute, and soon after the rukus, mamma walked up to her babies and all was calm for the moment. Not sure what scared the herd, but i was glad they scattered right near the porch!

hi ya ehBeth - hope ya all had a great trip!!

dev, sometimes the e mail notifications discontinue either because you hadn't posted for a few days, or the a2k hamsters hiccup. Just reclick where it says you'd like to be notified when someone posts at the thread -of post - and you'll begin receiving e mail notifications again. Very Happy

good day all ~

Now is the time for my favorite story about living in Korea. When a favor is done for someone and they say 'thanks' - the reply is something like=
"Ongee Dongee Kekoway."
It means literally, "Any time, My pleasure."
However, (big grin)
Sometimes a GI would say=
"Ongee Dongee Kegoray."
Which translates to "Any time, Frog."

One must be careful with the subtileness of other's language. grin

Any way - "Ongee D - - - er, Any time, My pleasure."

Stradee, thanks so much for those reviews. Maria Rosa Menocal will be doing a book signing in Milwaukee and I'm going to stock up on Christmas presents. It is a great book and her style is beautiful.

Thanks for thinks, Stradee.
Our Christkindl loves to give books...

Had a Halloween party with my class in school. Halloween is not a tradition here, but a tradition from the US we had to speak English. Lots of fun.
Pumpkins, witches ( with pointed hats. ours are not so fancy, they wear a scarf), yucky food and lots of party games.
Now school is closed for a week. Nice! Very Happy
