Ram Ugrade Question!!!

My girlfriend has a desktop computer with windows xp... and she only has 160mb of ram in it right now... she wants to upgrade it, so should I just put in a stick of 512mb in it? or should I take out the 160mb stick first, and then put the 512mb stick in? and what's the proper way of putting it in? Thanks

I'd suggest calling Crucial memory with the make and model of the computer.
