Non-functioning links in e-mail

Reply Tue 20 Sep, 2005 09:20 am
I have just switched from MSN.com to Comcast, and that means Outlook Express e-mail. I have now received two letters which include links to click on. One is to verify a Google News topic, and the other is an identification link from a friend who has a really serious anti-spam program.

The gist of it all is that the links don't work.

What am I doing wrong? And how can I do right?

Thanks!

In some cases you have to first click on a notation (somewhere on the e-mail page when the initial e-mail appears) which says "enable links". If clicking itself doesn't do the trick, set yourself up for the enjoyment of entering each web address manually. Have you given Comcast a call about this matter?

Open Outlook Express.
Go to "Tools" and then "Options".
When the window opens select the "Security" tab.

Uncheck the box that says "Block Images and other external content in HTML e-mail"

See if that fixes it for you.

Oh! You might also try reducing the security zone setting on that same page from "Restricted Sites zone" to "Internet Zone".
