I ran hijack this and I was able to remove the toolbar and de deskhelp toolbar that that trojan added to my computer but about 10 later it was back. Does anyone know how to remove this thing? it is driveing me crazy! please help!

Please confirm the name of the trojan you suspect - there is a SWIZZOR trojan family of which I am aware, one variant of which is suffixed ".dq" - but I haven't come across anything out there named "SWIZZER"".

Precisely what removal tools have you used? How did you employ them, and what were the results? Have you any of the logs from them? What operating system and browser are you using, and what is their update status? What resident security and privacy software do you have on your machine, and what is its update status?

I got rid of it
Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it. I ran Hijack this like 6 times and removed stuff I was not aware it was installed in my computer untill I got rid of the extra toolbars and they didn't come back after a while I was sure the whole thing was gone. By the way, yeah, the name is TROJ_SWIZZER.DQ I found some info about it they say it was created in the month of July so it's a very new thing. Maybe that's why you hadn't heard of it. Well thank you very much.

Are you rid of the puppy? That's really all that matters.

BTW - as far as I've been able to determine, the .dq variant of the SWIZZOR trojan was identified relatively recently, but any reference to "SWIZZER" I have come across in forums, usenet newsgroups, blogs, and email lists has in fact on further examination proven to have been a misspelling of "SWIZZOR". I've seen the erroroneous spelling numerous places, but have been unable to find anything actually relating to a specific "SWIZZER" trojan family. While its prolly not out of the question, I find it very odd there might be 2 unrelated, distinct, but very similarly named trojan families. I'd be very interested to see the info you came across; if you have links handy, I'd appreciate them. Thanks.
