What, for you, makes a great children's film (or story)? Humour? Adventure? Poignancy? Magic? What does it for you?

Magic, humour, adventure, special effects, great rememberable characters, colour, good story, songs, repatition.
Also familiarity helps.Including things like Boo in Monster inc and fish in Finding Nemo, they are all things kids can relate to.

I think humor that both kids and adults can relate to is needed in good childrens films. I think this helps ensure that both the kids and the adults enjoy the movie. The Shrek movies are an excellent example.

Yes, I think a good children's film has to be visually appealing - meaning very colorful, active, playful. Also, humor and a fable or morale often makes up a good kid movie...

And yes, Shrek had great humor for both kids and adults. That's what I think Chicken Little will be like - esp with Zach Braff as the voice. I can't wait!
