I just installed The Sims 2 for the second time on my PC. First time round everything worked ok, but this time when I try to run the program it says:

Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system! Please make sure you have a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. The application will now terminate.

Aye ok, so how come it worked first time round on the exact same PC? What do I do? Will I need to buy a graphics card then?

I would think your first step ought to be to check your graphic adapter's vendor webite and update to the latest drivers for your product/operating system configuration.
