The first images from the Vera C. Rubin Observatory in the foothills of Chile's Andes Mountains are providing a new, expansive view of the cosmos. For the next ten years, the observatory will produce an ultra-high-definition map of the entire visible southern sky every three nights. These images, which show stellar objects in incredible detail, are giving astronomers a transformational glimpse into the universe. Read more:
