2> An Indian emperor named Shatrayanaa was very clever and mighty. He invaded his neighboring countries with powerful armor and cunning troops. After this grand victory, he decided to celebrate with 10 Kings of the conquered Countries. He arranged a party with 1000 bottles of somarasa (A sweet liquor, like a wine). But those 10 Kings were wicked. They were very jealous of Shatrayanaa, so they tried a conspiracy against him. They called best druggists from all over the world and told them to make venom so powerful so that no anti-venom would be able to save Shatrayanaa. Druggists came up with Halahal, king of poisons made with Cobra sap, Comoro Saliva, Ashwamarak Plant's (horsepoison tree) Roots. Halahal was so powerful that 1000th fraction of the venom was sufficient to kill a human. On the day before the party, the spies of the wicked alliance deceived Shatrayanaa by filling one of the 1000 bottles of somarasa with Halahal. They made it sure that poison smells, tastes and looks exactly similar to a pure wine.

Shatrayanaa had a network of spies that already informed him with the news that powerful venom is mixed in one of the 1000 bottles of wine that would be used during the feast. Shatrayanaa was a smart King and because this occasion was special to him, he decided to keep the occasion going. In order to play a Death-Game with them, he kept those Kings, who came for the celebration to witness Shatrayanaa die, in 5 different rooms in pair and told them that they will be offered 2 small glasses of pure somarasa each that they have to drink. If they refuse, he would kill them. Not only that Shatrayanaa would be sitting with each one of them individually and would also be drinking along with them except with the king pair in the first cell.

The ceremony began and Shatrayana started moving to each room, he would sit with paired kings. The servant would bring 3 glasses of wine , 2 would be offered to the king pair in that room and 1 would be offered to Shatrayanaa as per the arrangement. Only in the first cell, the servant brought 2 glasses of wine both were offered to the 2 kings in that room.

Every time one of the wicked Kings would die and Shatrayanaa would remain alive. By the death of the 10th King , Shatrayanaa correctly identified the bottle that was infested with venom and disposed it right away without wasting much of the wine from remaining 999 bottles.

You guys now have to guess HOW Shatrayanaa achieved this task?

3> "Name: Damien Swat. Dead since 5 days. Probably murdered on 10th of May." said CID inspector Dey.

"How can you say he was murdered? He was infact hanging from the ceiling by a rope. It could be a suicide", asked Almond.

"Yeah but there was no support there, standing on which he could do that. No chair or stool, no furniture even. It was absolutely impossible to reach a 8 feet high ceiling and tie that rope there by barely standing on the floor for 5.10 heighted Damien" Dey.

"OK lets assume he was murdered but how come his door was locked from inside? No body can jump out of those windows with Grills and anti-burgler alarms and that too from the 4th floor of a building" Rodriguez.

"Strange!" spoken CID Head Wanson. "What else you found there?"

"The house is totally empty and cleaned, freshly washed as the floor is without dust. Mr. Simpson, who live below this apartment said that on 10th May, this apartment was washed with water as water was dropping down from the water outlet of the Gallery ." Sub-Inspector Natasha.

"May be the Killer was destroying the evidence by cleaning the floor." said Dey

"But then how could he simply vanish? The doors were all locked from inside. I think it's a suicide. " Almond was still questioning.

"Then how could he hang himself without support? Its surely a murder", Dey

The argument went loud, suddenly spoken Wanson, "Rodriguez, Did you investigate the dropping water?".

"Yes Sir, We took some traces of the water that was saturated at the corners of the house. The Rinsing water was clean. There was neither any chemical, blood traces, disinfectant nor any cleansing agents like soap or phenol. But they are useless" Rodriguez informed.

"Well!" Wanson smiled in a Flash. " then in that Case is Solved. Please Close the Case. I know who is the Killer."

Can you guys guess who is he?

1: The lawyer added a camel of his own to the mix, bringing the total to 20. This was now split 10, 5, 4, 1; so no camel has to be cut, and he got his own camel back.

2: Label each of the bottles from 1-1000 in binary. King N received a mixture containing 1/1000 of each of the bottles with a 1 in its Nth digit. If the king died, the bad bottle also had a 1 in the Nth digit. The Emperor was able to construct the 10-bit binary number of the bad bottle.

After the first day, he received a mixture from bottles that had 0 in the digits he already knew.

3: Damien hung himself by standing on a block of ice.

1st and 3rd solution is Correct.

Let me make 2nd One Easy

King 1 Death -

1000 bottles

500 Bottles - 500 bottles
Grp A - Grp B

Make 2 Glasses for King pair in room 1

Glass 1 : Mix small portions from all bottles from Grp A ,

Class 2 : Mix small portions from all bottles from Grp B

If a King dies after drinking from Glass 1 then a bottle from Grp A has Halahal Else Grp B has venom bottle.

Place the surviving King with third one to make a new pair in 2nd room.

King 2 Death

Now Take Group of 500 bottles suspected of poison.

250 Bottles - 250 bottles
Grp A - Grp B

Make 2 Glasses for King pair in room 2

Glass 1 : Mix small portions from all bottles from Grp A

Class 2 : Mix small portions from all bottles from Grp B

Glass 3: Non poisonous liquor for Shtrayanaa (From the other 500 bottles group)

If a King dies after drinking from Glass 1 then a bottle from Grp A has Halahal Else Grp B has venom bottle.

Place the surviving King with fourth one to make a new pair in 3rd room.

Go on doing this

King 3 : 2 Groups of 125

King 4: 2 Groups of 64 - 61

King 5: 2 Groups Of 32

King 6: 2 Groups Of 16

King 7: 2 Groups Of 8

King 8: 2 Groups Of 4

King 9: 2 Groups Of 2

King 10: 2 Bottles

King 10 dies of the Halahal bottle. Dispose it.

Shatrayanaa Is SMART and has not wasted much wine from remaining 999 bottles.
