For those crossword lovers out there, namely Lovatts Colossus 100 I am having trouble with 258a. Clue is "cloth binding for lower legs. Please help.

How many letters and do you have any in the grid?
Could it be puttees? Def: a strip of cloth wound around the leg to form legging; used by soldiers in World War I [syn: puttee]
