Hmm. . . . . guess this is my version of the weightloss topic but I only want to get to the gym and gasp! I wouldn't mind putting a few pounds of muscle on. So whether you goal is to slim down, buff up, or just get your arse moving feel free to post your progress here!

Guess I'll go first:

Goals:
Get to the gym 3 times a week
Some kind of resistance stuff weights I guess
Maybe work up to a mile or 2 jog
Walk to class 3 out of 5 days a week
1 mile in each direction eeeeek!

How I'm going to reach said goals:

Get to gym 1 day a week this month and add a day each month. Slow going but hey I'm a little slow!

Get my arse out of bed and walk!

Today:
I walked to class Yay! Maybe I'll even walk back.

Good idea here, Midnight.

The day started with a brisk five minute walk (3 1/2 minutes uphill) to retrieve the newspapers.

I did my stretching exercises, flung my arms and legs around and pedaled on my exercycle for 21 minutes at 65 km/hour--with resistance.

I hate exercise.

great job Noddy! Though I don't understand the peddling away and not getting anywhere. . . . always frustrated me!

Today

walk to class 1Mile!
I want to get a pedometer(sp?) to gauge how much I actually clock in walking around campus

Midnight, good for you. Personally, I do better walking for a certain time than aiming for a certain distance, but I've heard a number of people who are firmly anchored in three dimensions who swear by pedometers.

I skimped my exercises today and instead of cycling I spent twenty minutes walking (puffing) briskly around the parking lot of the local gourmet supermarket. April in the Poconos is mud season and the parking lot is paved.

Walking is a lot harder than cycling. Not only is it more strenuous, but I can't walk and read at the same time. Of course, People Watching is also diverting.

Inside the supermarket I behaved myself. Green tea, some exotic cheese and whole grain bread. A little bit of candy fell in the cart, but only a little bit (with very little pieces).

candy in the cart can be good! Chocolate always seems to sneak into mine. Today I walked around the apartment complex once . . . . . but I only had 4 hrs of sleep last night so I'm kind of dragging.

Add a day each month? Why not just go 3 days starting now?

I didnt come here for any particlular reason. I mostly stopped by to creep out the rest of the world with the three weirdest avatars on A2K.

I play handball. I love it, and it isnt that dangerous compared to all that gym equipment. That stuff looks like it were left over from a Midieval Trial.

Looks like it were designed by Tomas de Torquemada, if you ask me.

Treadmill is a synonym for boredom, by the way.

I can't do treadmills...too boring for me. Then again, I'm too lazy to do any cardio.

I go to the gym 4 days during the week, about 1hr each time. Mostly free weights.

Cake.

I do three days a week with weights....high reps, low weight, I'm only interested in toning and maintaining a low body weight at my age, better for the heart.

Also two 30 minute cardio workouts 5 to 6 days a week.

To alleviate boredom, I switch up from treadmill to eliptical to stairclimber and outside walking.

Also watching hard core porn while you do cardio really makes the time fly, Slap, but I figured you'd know that.

It does, but last time I brought a TV/VCR to the gym and set it up in front of my treadmill, they kicked me out.

It's worth buying one. Go to Sears, set up at home, enjoy life and living....

Midnight--

Early bed for you. Fatigue leads to nibbling...and nibbling and nibbling and nibbling.

I had another brisk walk today--different parking lot and too early for much people watching. Then I spent the morning in the kitchen cooking in batches to freeze--and then thaw--in controlled portions. Chili, seafood a la king, spiced beans....
