I wonder about the myself MsOlga. Screech didn't touch anything for days, I was pureeing tuna and dry kibble with water and squirting it down his throat once a day. I plopped that stuff in front of him at my sister's suggestion and wham-o, the cat ate.

If it's the only food the cat responds to, what else can you do?

Olga
I was just languishing here, wondering how things are going?

Enjoy your critter. It's so hard to make the decision to end it. I howled for days after the last one, and vowed I wouldn't get another cat.

That didn't last, though! Confused

Hi margo

Yes, it is a very hard decision. Yesterday I thought it would be this morning. Now it looks like most likely tomorrow. He's very quiet but doesn't appear to have given up the ghost. Right now he's out the back sunning himself, so there appears to be still some pleasure & comfort for him.
I did my big weeping thing yesterday. Then preceeded to get quite drunk, quiet quickly. Shocked I'm not good with SAD!

Thanking you for thinking of me & my critter,
Olga

Thankyou, Deb

Well, it's all over now. I made the firm decision last night when the flu symptoms seemed to be setting in. A very unhappy little cat last night! snuffles sneezes & pain.
So this morning, after a little sleep in the sun & a small breakfast of FF, off we went on our last vet visit together. He didn't complain like he normally does, which was a blessing.
The vet was wonderful, gentle & kind, & Rats was very peaceful when he died. It was good to see him without pain & discomfort at last.
But I miss him terribly.

Thanks to all of you for your support, comfort & suggestions in this very difficult situation. You've been a great help.

Olga

All our thoughts are with you, darlin' - got some good stuff to toast his life with?

Lots of cyber hugs and warm purrs and cold noses from me and my two.

I am glad he had a peaceful end - you having a good cry and cuddling the others?

Much love

Deb

Deb

Have already done the toast & celebrate the specifial life of my sweet greycat.
Think tonight is for sleep, though .... haven't had much of that over the last week & feel pretty stuffed.

Enjoy your hoilday!
