Motion Help Needed

I need help forming a motion asking for a postponement of a concilliation in family court.

My ex filed a motion for a change of custody and the filing is about a ream and a half of paper. I was only given about a week and a half to put together a response and I need a little more time getting all the public docs together.

The concilliation is set for Wednesday Aug 31 2005 so I have very little time.

I need to know how to go about requesting a postponement.

Any thoughts?
