I'm making a Nagano Pork Shank (Hammer Style) for dinner which includes chipotle peppers, honey, beer, and garlic (from a friend's son's garlic farm - yum). I love the smell of garlic, the taste of garlic, everything about garlic in any form.

What are you making/or have made for dinner?

@Mame,
1. I just put in the oven boneless chicken breast.
2. I seasoned it with (garlic) powder.
3. I also put some butter and fresh lemon juice on the chicken.
4. I hope it taste good. I'll find out shortly.

@Real Music,

i've been adding roasted garlic granules to my dinner veg.

imo it's a lot tastier than (garlic) powder.

only problem is most supermarkets don't carry it, but Whole Foods does...

@Region Philbis,
I've never heard of those so I had to Google it. This is what I found: https://www.myspicer.com/shop/garlic-roasted-granulated/

I can certainly see why roasted is better than not because I toast my coriander and cumin seeds and the taste is very, very different. I would never cook without toasted seeds again - sooo much better.

I'm going to check around here and see if anyone has that... otherwise, I could dry some of my homegrown and see what I can do.

Thanks for that! Roasted garlic is delightful.

@Region Philbis,
I'll have to look around my area to see if there any Whole Foods that sell (roasted garlic). If so, I will buy some.

@Mame,
1. My chicken tasted okay, but I may have used too much lemon.

2. Next time I will probably use more butter and little less lemon.

3. And I will also try using (roasted garlic), if I can find it in the stores.

@Mame,
I mace a rice pudding last night.

My dil is lactose intolerant so I use coconut milk.

I decided to stick some rum and a tin of pineapple chunks in to make it "pina colady."

It came out realy well. The extra liquid from the pineapple made a huge difference.

@izzythepush,
1. My grandmother use to make rice pudding, bread pudding, tomato pudding, and corn pudding when I was a kid.

2. Of those different puddings, bread pudding was my favorite.

3. Have you ever had rice pudding with raisons?

@Real Music,
Yes, although that was in a tin.

Tinned rice pudding is easily available over here but I like making my own.

It's very easy, minimal mixing, just put all the ingredients in a dish give it a stir and bung it in the oven.

I have not heard of tomato or corn puddings, but bread and butter pudding is traditional fare over here.

@izzythepush,
1. All of the puddings I listed are more known in the (south) over here.

2. Based only on my personal experiences, people over here who are not from the south, are not likely to be familiar with any of the puddings I listed.

3. Over here, when I mention those particular puddings, people often have either never had it before or never heard of it.

4. But, when I mention those particular puddings to a southerner over here, they are more familiar with what I'm talking about. And they have had at least two of those four different puddings.

1. Bread pudding is more known.

2. Rice pudding and tomato pudding are a little less known.

3. Corn pudding is the least known.

4. I am basing this only from my own personal experiences.

@Real Music,
When I was in Texas my friend told me Indian restaurants were the only place you could get rice pudding.

@Real Music,
Bread pudding, and bread and butter pudding are different.

Some supermarkets sell bread pudding in their bakery department.

You can eat a slice of it like cake.

You can't do that with bread and butter pudding, you need to put it in a bowl.

I use garlic in just about every dinner I make.

Tonight I'm making beef bourguignon, Julie Childs recipe, I'm serving mine over egg noodles. The kids like noodles over rice or potatoes.

@jcboy,
I use a base of onion, celery and garlic for a lot of cooking, pretty much all pasta sauces, cottage pie andchilli.

@jcboy,
It's like a shepherd's pie, but with beef instead of lamb.

Oh, that's a great idea for dinner tonight. I have some leftover baked potatoes and lamb.

@Mame,
I don't know if you can get them in Canada, but I put a couple of Dairylea cheese triangles in the mash.
