Characters that go COMPLETELY off the rails!

I don't know if they ruined any actors' careers, but I thought the storylines of Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, and Lost went completely off the rails. Once that happened, I had no respect or faith in the writers so stopped watching. It was a shame because I thought they all started out so well. Pretty much after that I focussed mainly on Cdn and UK shows, and haven't watched another US series.

I agree with what you wrote about House and storyline. The fumbled it badly…and “jumped the shark”.

I stopped watching Hugh Lawrie when he went to America.

It doesn't normally bode well even though I have heard good things about House.

As far as careers go. Lawrie could walk into another series with Stephen Fry no problems.

It was a bit weird.

I loved Wooster and Jeeves. P.D. Wodehouse was brilliant.

When they did it a lot of critics said it was the first time it had been done right.
