Hi Phoenix, if they both owned a racehorse or were both recognised horse breeders that would be more of a link but I don't think just loving horses is enough of a link.

Sturgis, you are right they were but different dates and different years, I think the link has to be more solid than that.

I have come across allegations that they are both of Jewish heritage. Not sure if that is true. St.John's birth surname was Oppenheim.

Hmmm I'll have a look in that direction Sturgis, although he is now a Buddhist, I would have thought it unlikely for a Jew to change their religion.

They've both co-starred in a movie with Sean Connery. Gere as Lancelot to Connery's King Arthur in First Knight, and St. John played Tiffany Case opposite Connery as "Bond, James Bond" in Diamonds are Forever.

Carey Lowell is Gere's wife, and she was also a "Bond girl" in Licence to Kill.
