i want to add a new hardware into my computer for transcription purpose, a foot pedal that will control the speed, rewind, fast forward etc... so how do set that up?
You need both compatible hardware and suitable software. Here are a few links, but before buying anything, do enough research to determine what you actually need to accomplish what it is you want to do.

The only experience I have with that is setting up a system for a clinic and another for a law office, and I used a package that included the necessary hardware and software as an integrated product - pretty much plug-play and train the monkies. I'm afraid I can't help you much beyond that.
