I play the acoustic guitar...well, I used to play, at least. Haven't picked it up in a few months. I used to write songs and go play at open mic nights, and I had a couple/few friends who I'd jam with from time to time. Good times.

I'd be a singer if I didn't have stage fright and I've always wanted to play the drums.

Panzade, come on, you can't still be embarrassed by the praise of women, can you? I mean, after the thousands of hot little groupies you've had, you must be used to it by now, right? The rock star life, eh?

Actually kicky I got a giant woody when I thought about Gia flicking a Zippo...thass a sexy sight. Twisted Evil

Yeah...I've seen some of your lyrics on A2K...good stuff.

Yes, a nice thread, Gia. I sing and play piano.(only comfortable in the key of C, however)

Flute and bagpipes, Wilso? Wow!

Panz, a Kay bass? Amazing. That's what my husband's bass is, and you are so right about a drummer who tries to set the tempo. That's an art!

A very cool thread and a very interesting variety of posts!

I play electric and acoustic guitars, always in at least one local bar band, mostly classic rock and blues. And I usually play in one or two local musicals per year, plus the occasional wedding.

I've considered taking up other instruments, but I so love guitars that I've never really pursued anything else.

Drummers = DIVAS. Well, not all. Just dumb ex. Thought he had SuperHe-Mann überHuman Metronome skillz. Meh, total Napoleon inferiority complex brought on by jealousy of frontman's RADNESS!!!! Razz ...yeah, I hope he reads THAT.

Montana, I'd like to play the drums too. But most likely not in this lifetime. I'm not coordinated/responsible enough to sit behind a drum kit. Just thinking about it gives me Stage Fright panic attack. I have 1 djembe and that's enough percussion stress release pour Moi. No pun intended here, people.

Letty~you can do SO much with the basics. C Major rocks. Who needs them pesky sharps and flats? 80% o' the time I personally Just Say No.

Panzade ROTFL! Chicks RULE ~ do we know a glam accessory or what?!

kickycan, u just kicked my b-hind here. Open mic nights, penning lyrics and jamming with friends? Good times indeed. Too bad I have just become re-addicted to internet Think Tank! *sigh*

Have a FAB night everyone!

Hey Doc~
I was cross-posting @ the same time. Thanx for the shoutout. BTW, off-topic, but hey--I started it anyways, so I guess it's legal--hearing about your love of guitars suddenly brought "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" to the front of my cranium.

Cool. Haven't thought of that one in years. Gonna be a Beatles kind of night.....

In my current band I play keyboard...but...I also have a Tele B-Bender strapped on.
This thing is like driving a truck. When you pull forward on the neck, a lever attached to the strap button raises the b string up a whole note..sorta like a pedal steel...I am working my butt off on this thing...

But for a guitarist it's all about tone...right Doc?
When my tone is good I revel...when it's bad I cringe...that's why we get addicted to those guitar pedals with 1000 settings.

I played the clarinet in our high school marching band and concert band as well, eoe. Them reed instruments can be difficult to play, but at least I didn't squeek mine.

Yes, I've heard of Los Tigres del norte (Tigers of the North) but thats about it. No, I don't play corrodos. I havn't even heard much of them but i'm interested. My name (Amigo) is misleading. I'm half white (Irish).People don't think of me as mexican and I don't speak spanish. I grew up playing punk rock. Now i'm playing neo folk (whatever that means) and alternative country.Experimental music of all kinds. I read your profile and wouldn't mind your advice on some things

The concept of spitting on a reed to change the tone is hard to grasp

guitar, bass guitar, acoustic guitar, banjo, ukelele, mandolin, dulcimer, sitar, bass (not bass guitar), violin, cello, and basically anything else with strings. Im not a big fan of reeds/brass/percussion instruments as you can tell.
