Yuckware: see anything I've missed

This last weekend, I ran through the anti-yuckware process to try and kill a nasty adware infection on one of my home machines. Unfortunately, the pop-ups keep coming, though seemly at a somewhat slower pace. Here's my hijack this log after the process. Can you see anything that made it through?

Checked out a few and did not find anything. Here are a few more things I usually recommend or run myself. Goto Add/Remove programs in control panel and see if there is anything that is out of ordinary installed. Then I would recommend downloading and running Microsoft Antispyware (free download and Microsoft.com), otherwise, download and run Spybot. These will search directories. There may be adware/spyware in some directories. Also make sure you are up to date on patches etc. Do Microsoft updates as there my be patches for any weaknesses found, like MSN etc. Hope this helps.

I'd say that if in fact cwmills stepped through the process, as he claims to have,

and which the log posted appears to verify at least in part, cwmills is several steps ahead of you there, drainbamage - all that you mentioned - and then some - is in the The Process.

However, cwmills - you do not have HijackThis installed correctly (as directed, it should be in a dedicated folder of its own either in your Programs file or directly on your root drive), and it would be helpful to see the initial and followup EWIDO logs, as requested, to enable a more thorough analysis. If you saved those logs, as directed, I'd like to see them before proceeding.

This entry;
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [winsync] C:\WINDOWS\system32\sdsssd.exe reg_run
is troubling; it appears to be a signature typical of the QOOLOGIC Trojan, a common component of yuckware.


These entries;

are somewhat suspicious as well.

There are a few other things in that log that have my curiousity piqued, apart from just those mentioned. I'd really like to get more info about what was and is going on with your system.
