Well the kid who murdered people and tried to get of on the "Video games made me do it" plea wasn't given leeway. In a way it's good becaause it quites a lot of the people who go around spouting out polling data that shows, undeniably, that video games are the reason why violence and crimes are up, never mind the fact that the entire polling survey was conducted on people who live in covenant suburbia, a place where, the last time I checked, very little violence actually happens on a regular basis. It migvht just be me, but the last time I drove through a covenant controlled area, I wasn't afraid of getting shot at... albeit there are some people who can't tell the difference between reality and fantasy, however, tis is a very small minority of gamers and to think that the general public would throw a blanket statement over all of us that we are gun toting prostitue killing street racing ogres with magic arrows going ruining their little corner of the world sounds like overkill to me.
