That's true, nimh. I think it's all related though, since clothes for females have such variety of range; perceptions of others and and expression of ourselves seem to alight on clothes selection more obviously than for men..

Yeh, osso, the clothes thing....

I was just thinking about those talk shows where they sometimes have parents drag their daughters on to give them a "makeover". Usually it's tomboys and goths who get made over.

They slap these girls in heels and dresses and make up and trot them back out and the mom cries and everyone claps and the daughter stands there feeling like a total dork.

The "makeover" might have feminized or normalized their appearance but it really seems to have sapped all confidence and personality out of the girls. They seem so awkward and uncomfortable that I always think they looked better before.

Hey nimh-you're in your element here.

"awful" eh?Isn't that a lazy adjective?

Have you not read Veblen's essay-The Barbarian Status of Women.

nimh-

Well-your approval of Smog's post beggars belief coming from a man.

Spendius and I had a little spat over on the Game Nobody Understands Game thread (appropriately, perhaps). Never mind, carry on ;-)

Yeah.He flatters women and all that does is put the price up to enjoy their approval and make the conditions more rigouress. That's why he's popular with women. He doesn't realise that if we ignored them for a bit they would come a runnin'.He also doesn't realise that without some back-bone stiffening women will wring his neck.

Hey, nimh!

You owe me some flattery. I'm gonna get you kicked out of the Popular Boys Club otherwise. If you see Frank at the Clubhouse, tell him the same thing.
