I think you would be mentally unstable if pain is good for you. Either that or you're confusing relief with pain.

..personaly I cant say Ive found any sort of pain to be of any pleasure...ever...hang on except Chillblains! hurts while relief scratching.

however others may if they are into S&M

you can? maybe pain opened you up to allow you to feel pleasure. its all related. one emotion leads into the next. your mind isn't divided perfectly into two spears a pleasure one and a pain one. the nuerons are all mixed. there arne't definitive compartments.

i know that. but you brought up a good point. you can confuse feelings. someitmes you don't konw you're feeling somethign when you actually are. and someitmes one thing can be painfull, another time pleasureable.

Wrong association of feelings. They've associated the trigger for drugs in their brain to "numb" the awareness of the pain, but it's wrongly associated as they are harming each other and causing each other pain without being aware of it.
