Welcome, Gautam!

Another recommendation for cinema from India -- I'll put it on my list.

I'll have to wait until it gets onto DVD if it hasn't made it already. I would imagine there are theaters in LA that show these films. Actually, I could check the local art film multiplex but I'd have to cross my fingers.

I don't think I've seen "The Cruise" mentioned on this thread yet. It's a documentary about a NYC tour bus guide. His love affair with the city and its architecture is amazing to watch.

There is one scene where he stands on the plaza between the World Trade Center and spins till he's dizzy for the interesting effect of wathing them seem to sway and collide.

I haven't seen the film in years and now I'm thinking I should rent it again....

Welcome, boomerang!

NYC! I don't know of any city one could name where the architecture has found its way in so many films. Woody Allen's "Manhattan" is on the top of my list. The musical "On the Town," Hitchcock's "Saboteur" with that hair raising climax on top of the Statue of Liberty. Where can one stop?

Hi back, Lightwizard.

I agree that the city makes a wonderful set for any movie. It's so identifiable.

San Francisco comes close, followed by Seattle I suppose for recognizable American cities in films but nothing compares to NYC.

Gattaca seemed to resonate with it's minute architectural grandure.
