Oh. My. God.

Bear is gonna have problems with sore, leaking breasts, loss of sexual energy, and inconsistent periods? That sounds just like...pregnancy!

Well, no wonder his tummy's upset!

I shall start knitting booties this very evening. So...do you think it will be a boy or a girl cub this time?

(You really ARE full of ****, Bear!)

ehbeth, who I count among those on A2K I love dearly, left out a bunch of possible side effects. This drug blows.

Breast development in males, confusion, congestive heart failure, continual discharge of milk from the breasts, depression, diarrhea, dizziness, fluid retention, frequent urination, hallucinations, headache, high or low blood pressure, high fever, hives, impotence, inability to hold urine, insomnia, menstrual irregularities, nausea, rapid or slow heartbeat, rash, rigid muscles, slow movement, swollen tongue or throat, tremor, vision problems, wheezing, yellowed eyes and skin
In addition, Reglan may cause symptoms similar to those of Parkinson's disease, such as slow movements, rigidity, tremor, or a mask-like facial appearance.

Especially in older people, Reglan may produce tardive dyskinesia, a syndrome of jerky or writhing involuntary movements, particularly of the tongue, face, mouth, or jaw. In children and adults under 30, Reglan may cause involuntary movements of the arms and legs, and sometimes loud or labored breathing, usually in the first day or two of treatment.

Reglan may cause intense restlessness with associated symptoms such as anxiety, agitation, foot-tapping, pacing, inability to sit still, jitteriness, and insomnia. These symptoms may disappear as your body gets used to Reglan, or if your dosage is reduced.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why should this drug not be prescribed?

Do not take Reglan if you are sensitive to it or have ever had an allergic reaction to it.

You should not take Reglan if you have a condition such as obstruction, perforation, or hemorrhage of the stomach or small bowel that might be aggravated by increased stomach and small-bowel movement.

If you have pheochromocytoma (a nonmalignant tumor that causes hypertension), do not take Reglan; it could trigger a dangerous jump in blood pressure.

Do not take Reglan if you have epilepsy; it could increase the frequency and severity of seizures.

If you are taking a drug that is likely to cause side effects such as tremors, jerks, grimaces, or writhing movements, do not take Reglan; it could make such symptoms more severe.

Well, as an outside observer, I suppose most of those symptoms might not get gung ho on the advent of the ingestion of the first pill.

My own question is related to its function which seems to be related to contractions.

If you are blocked, where is the contracted matter then going to go? To painville, or what?

Not to question the whole efficacy of an apparent routine procedure, but .... huh?

Perhaps your md wants to find out if you are contracting...

I don't think he is talking to you quite enough.

My only parallel experience is with my breast cancer surgeon, who had me meet her at her office on a quiet sunday afternoon and went over ever possible question I might have.

Ok, I was a lucky stiff.

Still, ask everything you can think of.

Osso, I may not be thinking clearly on this either. To be honest with you, I find myself becoming depressed, and I am just exhausted, except for a short period of time in the late afternoon when my previous meds have worn off and I haven't yet thrown down the evening dose. I'm trying so hard not to take these pain meds, but I'm up now waiting for some to kick in so I can go back to sleep. i'm supposed to drive to Greenville today (80 miles) and rehearse with a guitarist I'm going to do a duet with Mid September, but I don't think I have the stamina.

I am not surprised - pain and illness are awful - and worry won't be helping any.

I do wish we could really help.

Me, I don't think you should do that, even if you can, or can try to.
I understand the horrendous money constraints. But, dead is not economical. Buck up!

No, really. You need a good talk with the doc you relate to.

I think the idea of saving money is potentially deadly - really deadly, for you - re some decisions, at the same time that ..
I think tossed off decisions can send you back to the darkages financially.

How's that for a conundrum?

I don't know. But first, live, get living, and live well, re health decisions.

I see you are making immediate show decisions, ****, and they have financial implications.
What a world.
I've been there, it's why I am 63 with no pension. But.. I wouldn't have missed it...

No advice, except to take care of your life, it's primary.

Bear, I hope you can access this Jackie Lawson card. I couldn't resist it for you. It's a bear graduating from a music academy.

less bloated, you can physically tell it.... the same constant pin as always, but very low level... not as weak today. If I feel better I'll probably drive to Greenville later. I can't cancel this Festival style gig. It's a big payday.

You take care of yourself or you'll end up back in the hospital.
