Expense is definately an issue. Another is whether any of these doctors have any slightest idea what the others are doing. Does the gp, for instance, think everything is under control because a referral to a gi has been made?

Damn the expense!!! They can't refuse to take you if it's an emergency. And if you can't aafford to pay afterwards, fukkit! File for bankruptcy. That's what happened to me. I ran up hospital bills in excess of $60,000 w/ no health insurance. I was self-employed at the time and had absolutely no insurance. Got a lawyer, filed for bankruptcy and that was that. That was a dozen years ago. I'm just now getting back on my feet financially. So what? Money should never have anything to do with what could be life-threatening. Damnit, Bear, do something!!!

not only that, with the enormouse amounts of hospital bills that go unpaid, after about 6 months they counter offer with you usually only paying between 5-10 percent.
BUT it doesnt effect the credit rating as much as people think. ;-)
and if it is the co-pay for your insurance you are worried about, you can be billed for that as well and pay it in 2 or 3 dollar a month installments if you so choose until it is payed for.

no excuses. you better do something bear. :-(

Since neither he nor Squinney have chimed in here for several hours, let's hope he went on to the doctor.

I'm home, I'm medicated, and yes I'm holding out for my dr. visit.

Not having insurance and being broke like this is pretty new for me, at last in my adult life, and I swallowed my pride and applied for medicaid.

Unfortunately because of the new guidelines, we make too much money. The cutoff point for a family of four is a monthly income of 594.00 a month. Yes, you f**king read that right.

There are definitely serious holes in the system. But I am convinced for every problem there is a solution somewhere. Hoping for fast inspiration.

<sigh> This is not right. A person should be able to get immediate medical attention in your condition, Bear. <sigh> Your situation makes me very angry indeed.
