"Maria Full Of Grace" made a splash on foreign shores now I hope the new Colombian movie "Rosario Tijeras" which I just saw makes it to the states and elsewhere so the rest of you can see it. Girl grows up in poor barrio in Medellin and becomes a prostitute and killer. Great acting with lots of range by stunning Colombian actress Flora Martinez. (Unlikely that readers here would have heard of her but Paola Rey who I have an enormous crush on and saw once in person at the US Embassy in Bogota was the second runner up for the part.) Martinez' face reminds me of the outlaw Mexican cantante Gloria Trevi. An older film that some may have heard of which also took place in Medellin and dwelt some of the same subject matter is "Vendedora De Rosas" or The Rose Seller.
Watching for this to get to Toronto.
