Alright, whenever I try to write a program that uses a Winsock control in VB 6 pro, I always get a runtime error 2 and it highlights the line Winsock1.Listen, and any other programs that I run that use the Winsock control, even if someone else compiled them, also get this error.
What operating system/service pack level are you using? I can think of a few things which might solve that problem, but which best to use depends on what you're running.
Windows XP SP2, and I think it is Visual Studio 6 Pro with no service packs installed, although I'm not entirly sure. Might be best if you post all of the ones for XP SP2 and VS6 Pro, incase one doesn't work I can try another.
Dunno if this will help or not, but you could try rebuilding Winsock - An app that will do that for you is
Winsock XP Fix 1.2
On further consideration, and after a bit of consulting and discussion with some other folks, I gotta say I doubt my earlier suggestion is gonna do much for you - sorry. I'm still waiting for some better answer - I'll update you if anything that makes sense comes my way.
Alright, I'll try that any way and see if it works though.
Edit: It worked, just ran a program to test it and I don't get that error any more.
