"gravicembalo col piano e forte"

I wondered where the term pianoforte came from, since it's made up of two antonyms...

ossobuco..
I really like the sounds of a Fazioli heard through the sample CD. The piano seems to have very elastic and bright sonorities.
If I could upload a sample file somewhere, I would post a link.

With the pianoforte you can play both piano and forte on a score.

Yeah.

I used to think it was the pianoforte's ability to sustain that distinguished it from the harpsichord. Didn't know it was the dynamics.

welllllll, I don't mind ordering the odd cd. I just ordered a bunch that were recommended on a thread re italy...

and I've ordered books based on a thread re latin american lit.

So, I'd be pleased to see a link. Not that I have endless money to put towards cds, but that I pay attention to some comments here on a2k.

even if they're not yours?

In my experience this is no problem.

Do you not like commerciality? If that is so, then I'll be quiet.

But if you're just avoiding links - well, let me not guess, tell me more, Satt.

You don't want to be promotional? I appreciate that, if that is so, in the purist sense.

Good CD's can be introduced through commercial links.
I meant I would avoid privately interested commercials.

Within a week, I would try one myself at a showroom nearby, although I am not a young lady. Smile

The sound of the crystal piano is not bad; people not familiar with piano music/sound wouldn't be able to discern any difference.
