no cause of death has been given, but 74 is way too young...

@Region Philbis,
Bat out ov Hell was one of three albums everyone was supposed to own, the other two are Rumours by Fleetwood Mac and Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd.

@izzythepush,
The three over here were BOOH, The Best of Chris de Burgh (who was popular in Ireland for many years before 'breaking' the UK with the execrable 'Lady in Red') and one of the many 'Best of..' albums by Simon & Garfunkel (there were three to my knowledge, all of them identical). Simpler times.

@lmur,
Chris de Burgh was known over here for Spanish Train and A Spaceman came travelling before The Lady in Red.

I thought they were all equally execrable.

Although Mr de Burgh is the reason I had a letter published in the Guardian.

@izzythepush,
Didn't realise that he was known in the UK earlier. Lady Di was a fan and of course her taste in music was impeccable.

I was never a big fan.

I'd do anything for love (but i won't do that) do what?

I always pictured Bonnie Tyler wearing a strap on as Meat Loaf was singing that.

May he R.I.P.

I found a couple of articles that stated the cause of death was COVID.

@jcboy,
The most trustworthy of the ones I've seen is the Evening Standard which isn't saying a huge amount.

The execrable Daily Mail is leading on how cruel people are mocking him for his anti vaccine anti mask stance.

I don't know the truth of any of it, I was unaware of anything Meatloaf said about Covid, but if he was anti mask and anti vaccine aged 74, Covid does seem highly likely.

@izzythepush,
Could be, I read an article that said those that are unvaccinated will all most likely get COVID to some extent.

NY Post says Covid but they also got his real first name wrong, so take that for what it's worth: https://nypost.com/2022/01/21/meat-loaf-was-ill-with-covid-days-before-his-death-report/

@jespah,
At a pub table quiz many moons ago, the quizmaster asked: 'Which rock star's real name is Marion Lee Aday?' This was pre-internet and he disappeared for twenty minutes to check his question book after I discreetly corrected him.
