I was wondering if anyone could tell me if there are legal concerns when it comes to publishing original writing under a pen name? Do you have to legalize the name, obtain a special permit, or so on and so forth?
Note, by this I do not mean publishing under a screenname on a website. I'm referring to real publishers and tangible books.

A wealth of information is available on the internet. With a little bit of digging, you should be able to find the answers to your questions. If you have actual legal concerns other than mere curiosity, make sure you consult with an attorney who has expertise in the area of copyright law.
